Project Manager – Civil Engineering

Location: Chicago, IL (West Loop)

Job Type: Full-Time, Hybrid

Salary: $115,000–$130,000 per year

About the Opportunity

Bluebird Staffing is hiring on behalf of a client seeking an experienced Project Manager – Civil Engineering to join their team in Chicago, Illinois. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned civil engineering professional with a background in municipal engineering or site development to lead diverse projects, manage client relationships, and contribute to the growth of an innovative engineering organization.

The ideal candidate will bring strong project management capabilities, technical expertise, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage civil engineering projects from planning and design through project completion.
• Oversee municipal engineering and site development projects, including residential, commercial, and industrial developments.
• Lead civil engineering plan development, technical reviews, and design coordination.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, resources, and deliverables to ensure successful project execution.
• Coordinate with clients, internal teams, consultants, and other project stakeholders.
• Prepare and review technical reports, engineering documentation, and written deliverables.
• Provide staff leadership, mentoring, and professional development support to engineering team members.
• Support business development initiatives, including client relationship management and proposal preparation.
• Contribute to projects involving roadway design, stormwater modeling, capital improvements, green infrastructure, and trail design.
• Maintain high standards of technical quality, regulatory compliance, and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 8+ years of professional civil engineering experience.
• Background in municipal engineering, site development, or related civil engineering disciplines.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas or the ability to obtain the required licensure.
• Demonstrated experience managing engineering projects, teams, and client relationships.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical and report writing.

Compensation and Work Arrangement

• Salary: $115,000–$130,000 annually.
