Location: 10031 Nash Road, Chesterfield, Virginia. VCU Health Chesterfield Pavilion, a 100,000‑sq‑ft ambulatory surgery center scheduled to open April 2027. $20,000 sign‑on bonus for offers accepted by May 31, 2026. Terms apply. Job Summary We are hiring Diagnostic Radiography Technologists to provide imaging services at the new VCU Health Chesterfield Pavilion. The role involves performing diagnostic, therapeutic, and research radiation procedures for patients of all ages. Core Competencies Perform all duties of a Diagnostic Technologist I. Safely administer contrast or other imaging agents, identifying incompatibilities and interactions. Assess patient risk for allergic reactions to contrast media and follow escalation protocols. Evaluate lab values before administering contrast media for ordered examinations. Provide clear, age‑appropriate explanations and instructions to patients and families, ensuring understanding and consent. Perform exams or therapies per established protocols, maintaining patient comfort. Adhere to policies and protocols to ensure expected outcomes. Document any protocol deviations or patient‑specific issues impacting image quality. Notify the appropriate health care provider when immediate clinical response is required based on findings or patient condition. Timely complete post‑processing, image display, and transfer for physician review. Demonstrate timely order closure, charge entry, and PACS QA completion. Routinely cover open shifts as appropriate for competency level. Knowledge and Competency Experienced and competent in routine and complex studies. Complete understanding of technical standards, scope of practice, policies, and safety and service standards. Complete understanding of imaging equipment, image processing software, instrumentation, and ancillary patient care equipment. Education, Certification & Experience Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), BLS, and successful completion of a 6‑month orientation. Individuals with at least one year of experience can be hired directly into this role.
