Role Description The Apparel Designer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Dallas, TX. The designer will create original apparel concepts and collections that align with Utopia Brands' consumer insights, brand positioning, and market trends. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing sketches and technical drawings, selecting fabrics and trims, preparing tech packs, and collaborating closely with product development, merchandising, and sourcing teams. The role involves researching fashion, lifestyle, and performance trends, translating data and customer feedback into commercially viable designs, and ensuring designs meet fit, quality, cost, and sustainability standards. The Apparel Designer will participate in design reviews, support sampling and production processes, and help maintain a cohesive brand identity across multiple apparel lines. Qualifications Demonstrated experience in apparel design, including concept development, sketching, and creating technical drawings and tech packs. Knowledge of fabric types, garment construction, fit, and finishing techniques, with attention to detail and product quality. Proficiency with industry-standard design tools (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD software) and basic proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar tools. Ability to conduct trend, market, and consumer research and translate insights into commercially relevant designs for diverse apparel categories. Strong collaboration skills and experience working with cross-functional teams such as product development, merchandising, sourcing, and production. Effective communication skills, including the ability to present design concepts and respond constructively to feedback. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to balance multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, or a related field; prior experience in consumer or lifestyle brands is preferred. Understanding of retail and e-commerce environments, including awareness of pricing, margin, and customer expectations across global markets. #J-18808-Ljbffr
