Assembly Technician

Assembly Tech - Aerospace
Location: Hartford County
Pay Range: $28-31/hour

Join Applied Aerospace & Defense as an Assembly Tech supporting aerospace production, overhaul, and repair operations. This role performs fitting, assembly, teardown, bonding, marking, and documentation tasks on aircraft parts while maintaining high quality, safety, and continuous improvement standards in a precision manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

Perform fitting and assembly operations on various production aircraft parts.
Perform teardown and assembly of overhaul and repair aircraft parts.
Clean and apply special adhesives to materials to create permanent bonds.
Set up and control furnace temperatures according to established specifications.
Read and interpret blueprints, operation sheets, technical specifications, and overhaul manuals.
Maintain required records, files, and production documentation.
Perform temporary part marking, in-process transfer marking, and final part marking using Vibro Engraving, Electro-chemical Etch, Ink Stamp, Dot-Peening, and Paint marking methods.
Work with salary and hourly support groups to resolve complex assembly and quality issues.
Identify nonconformances at the time of occurrence and notify management of issues or risks.
Participate in Lean production and Continuous Improvement projects that drive efficiency.
Work safely at all times and support safety improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

Previous assembly, aerospace, aircraft, manufacturing, or mechanical experience preferred.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, operation sheets, technical specifications, and overhaul manuals.
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality, conforming work.
Comfortable maintaining records and following detailed process requirements.
Ability to assist and coach lower-classification operators on assembly techniques as needed.
Safety-focused mindset and willingness to participate in continuous improvement activities.
Must be US Citizen, pass Background Check & Drug Test
