Medical-Surgical Nurse (RN) | Concord, North Carolina

Experienced Registered Nurses with a strong background in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing are needed for a contract opportunity. This role offers the chance to provide care for diverse and complex patient populations in a well-equipped hospital with a collaborative team structure.


Schedule/Hours:

• Weekend rotation: every other weekend
• No on-call requirement
• Holiday coverage: expectation to work 75% of major holidays
• Schedule based on a 6-week cycle
• Up to 6 days of requested time off (RTO) can be approved, not including holidays (must fulfill total contract hours)

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum of 18 months recent Med/Tele RN experience (Resource Team requirement)
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Proficient in cardiac rhythm interpretation, stroke care, tracheostomy and chest tube management
• Skilled in peripheral IV starts, tube/drain management (NGT, Dobhoff, PEG, Hemovac, JP drains, Foley catheters)
• Competency in medication drip management (cardiac drips, Heparin, blood products, IVF)
• Previous experience with Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Phillips monitors, and Omnicell med dispensing preferred
• Willingness to float to multiple units and facilities within assigned region, as required

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients on the Medical Telemetry unit, treating conditions such as end stage renal disease, diabetes, sickle cell, behavioral health issues, and more
• Safely manage patient ratios (typically 1:5-6, higher during surges)
• Collaborate with a team including CNAs, Charge Nurse, Receptionist, HUC, and 24/7 support from hospitalists and respiratory therapists
• Participate in facility and unit orientation, with comprehensive onboarding support
• Attend to patient and department needs promptly and efficiently, maintaining patient safety and comfort
