Position Description: Greater State Bank is looking for a Commercial Loan Officer. To join our growing team, please review the list of responsibilities and qualifications.
Commercial lenders provide loan decisions and/or credit recommendations based on a review of all underwriting criteria, including loan structure, collateral, interest rate, and fees within assigned loan authority.
Responsibilities
·\tFollow current loans to ensure conformity with terms and to develop knowledge of developing trends
·\tIdentify customers’ banking needs and matching bank products and services
·\tBuild effective relationships and trust with clients and potential clients by listening to and uncovering their needs and educating them about the bank products and services that are most appropriate for their situation
·\tIdentifies business development opportunities with prospects or current customers
·\tCollects application documents and analyzes client’s financial condition
·\tMaintains current knowledge on banking and lending products, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements, market and industry activities and trends
·\tEvaluate potential transactions to determine quality of lending opportunities and appropriate transaction structure to mitigate risk and maximize return on investment
·\tManage internal deal screening, risk analysis, pricing analysis and internal credit approval process
·\tDraft and negotiate term sheets, commitment letters and loan documents
·\tSupport legal documentation and execution of new transactions
Skills/Qualifications
·\tBachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or related field OR 3+ years prior experience in an equivalent field OR experience sufficient to perform the responsibilities as outlined above.
·\tKnowledge of financial statements and accounting practices.
·\tExcellent customer service and collection skills to handle situations which require assertiveness and discretion.
·\tAbility to collaborate with team members.
·\tAbility to listen to and recognize customer problems and determine a resolution.
·\tExcellent oral, written, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
·\tKnowledge of appropriate banking laws and regulations.
·\tStrong experience writing content.
·\tTime management skills & ability to meet deadlines.
·\tSome travel will be required.
·\tCommunity involvement.
·\tWork schedules are Monday - Friday (8am-6pm) varies and participation in Saturday rotation of 9:00am - 1:00pm.
·\tBilingual preferred.
Physical Requirements
·\tSome lifting and moving may be required.
·\tProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
·\tStanding for a long period of time.
Education:
·\tBachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or related field OR 3+ years prior experience in an equivalent field OR experience sufficient to perform the responsibilities as outlined above.
