As a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in the Emergency Department (ED), you will support a diverse patient population, with many managing various chronic respiratory disorders, critical illnesses and related symptoms. In this role, combining your skills with a compassionate attitude and outlook can make a difference in their lives and help promote a journey toward recovery or stability. A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00PM - 7:00AM or 3:00PM - 3:30am, with rotating weekend and holiday requirements.

\n

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

\n

\n
• Provide assessment, treatment, care and evaluation to patients with respiratory insufficiencies.  
\n
• Direct respiratory caregivers for delivery of care.  
\n
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.  
\n
• Assess patients for the appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop, implement and monitor patient care plans.  
\n
• Monitor, record and communicate patient condition. 
\n
• Perform advanced respiratory care modalities, evaluate respiratory practice, administer medications/treatments and perform blood gas puncture and analysis.  
\n
• Educate patients and families about the illness and provide information about community support groups and other programs.  
\n

\n

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

\n

\n
• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program 
\n
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
\n
• Ohio Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) Board Licensure 
\n
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) 
\n

\n
\n

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

\n

\n
• Bachelor’s Degree 
\n
• Prior experience in critical care 
\n
• Neonatal/pediatric experience (when appropriate for site)
\n
• Prior experience performing invasive procedures (when appropriate for site)
\n

Physical Requirements:

\n

\n
• Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
\n
• Normal hearing and vision or corrected to normal range.
\n
• May require sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time.
\n
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
\n
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
\n

Pay Range

\n

\n

Minimum hourly: $36.75

\n

\n

Maximum hourly: $48.55

\n

The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education.
