Step into a dynamic, hands-on position dedicated to supporting young learners in their earliest educational experiences. As a contracted school psychologist, you’ll work primarily with Pre-Kindergarten students, providing essential behavioral interventions and transition support as they enter the school environment. This role centers on implementing the First Step Transition program, focusing on school readiness, social-emotional development, and promoting positive behaviors in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver behavioral intervention services to Pre-K students, enhancing their adaptation for a successful transition into the school setting
• Implement the First Step Transition program, including behavioral coaching, consultation with teachers, progress monitoring, and collaborating with families
• Participate in multidisciplinary evaluations and support teams (working alongside professionals such as OTs, PTs, SLPs, autism consultants, teachers of record, and nursing staff)
• Actively engage in family and caregiver communication to ensure consistent support for students’ needs
• Lead and support classroom consultations in the Special Needs and Abilities Preschool (SNAP) program
• Conduct preschool evaluations as part of a multi-day testing process for new students and their families
• Assist First Step Transition students with individualized plans and interventions

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid School Psychologist certification
• Previous experience working in early childhood or elementary educational settings, ideally with Pre-K population
• Strong background in behavioral intervention and evidence-based practice
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills
• Compassion, commitment, and enthusiasm for early childhood development

This contract position runs from August 14, 2026, to June 4, 2027, with a typical schedule of 35 hours per week and some flexibility for additional hours as needed. You’ll make a meaningful difference in the lives of students while building lasting relationships with families and colleagues.
