You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (MILITARY) in the Board for Correction of Naval Records of SECNAV BCNR.

Duties

Help

• You will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing and determining the adequacy of supporting materials for correction of Navy and Marine Corps military records.
• You will be responsible for reviewing and tracking processing several thousand applications per year.
• You will engage in an effective working relationship with personnel from the Navy Military Personnel Command, Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps, Bureaus of Medicine and Surgery, and other appropriate Navy and Marine Corps activities.
• You will analyze facts, identify problems, report findings, make conclusions, and recommend corrective or other appropriate action.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

• Experience interpreting military laws, regulations, and policies governing military records to ensure compliance with federal and agency requirements.
• Experience applying federal statutes, agency guidance, and regulatory requirements to evaluate military records and support case decisions.
• Experience assembling, organizing, and reviewing military record documentation to ensure complete and accurate case files prior to adjudication.
• Experience adjudicating requests for correction of military records by analyzing evidence and applying applicable statutes, regulations, and policies to resolve errors or injustices.

Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

master's or equivalent graduate degree

or

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.B. or J.D., if related
