Registered Nurse (RN) | Behavioral Health | Acute Unit

Location: Avera Behavioral Health Center - Sioux Falls, South Dakota Worker Type: Regular Work Shift: Rotating days/evenings/nights, weekends, holidays (United States of America) Pay Range: $32.50 - $48.50 per hour (actual pay rate dependent upon experience) Position Highlights Eligible for sign‑on bonus up to $15,000 for RN’s with 3+ years of experience. Job Overview Provide nursing care in the Acute unit – a short‑term inpatient unit focused on safety, stabilization, and therapeutic activities. Work with adults and families, delivering high‑quality, patient‑centered care. Responsibilities Provide patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions and communicating the nursing care plan to the health care team. Develop nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining patients, documenting conditions, conferring with family, and establishing diagnoses and objectives. Teach healthcare requirements by establishing patient care goals and instructing patients/family on self‑care skills. Evaluate patient care by measuring outcomes, reviewing records, and re‑evaluating objectives. Maintain a safe, secure environment by following infection‑control policies, medication procedures, and legal regulations. Document patient care services in charting systems. Maintain patient‑care equipment and supplies, troubleshooting, performing preventive maintenance, and ordering when needed. Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) with active license in the State of South Dakota. 1‑3 years of clinical experience (Preferred). Ability to work specified hours including nights, weekends, and holidays. Strong communication skills and visual acuity adequate for job functions.
