Schedule Full Time, 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm, rotating weekends and holidays. Job Description EVS Associate II – Environmental Services – Cleans discharges and units throughout BMC Brighton, maintaining a neat, orderly and sanitary hospital environment. Position Summary According to established procedures, cleans and services all areas of the facility. Moves furniture, equipment and supplies in and around hospital departments and performs a variety of environmental services duties. Responds to fire or disaster codes as instructed by supervisor or manager. Essential Responsibilities / Duties Selects cleaning materials and supplies and prepares chemicals according to procedure. Loads maid’s carts and transports them to work areas. Cleans assigned areas, washing furniture, tile, fixtures and equipment with germicidal solutions. Cleans high‑touch areas such as door knobs, handrails, telephones, wall plates, light switches, monitors, walls, windows, ceilings, vents and televisions. Sweeps, mops floor areas, vacuums carpets, spot‑cleans carpets and arranges furniture and equipment in an orderly fashion after cleaning. Requests cleaning supplies and equipment as needed. Operates various types of mechanical and electrical cleaning equipment. Cleans equipment and notifies manager of equipment needing repair. Reports safety hazards. Cleans carts and equipment and ensures all items are replaced orderly. May climb ladders to hang cubicle drapes or window drapes. May collect waste from all areas of responsibility and hazardous waste as established by policy. Cleans isolation rooms during patient stay and after discharge. Cleans operating suites using proper solutions and departmental procedures. Arranges furniture for meetings. May assist with delivery of laundry carts to patient areas. Reporting Requirements Reports to supervisors any beds not completed during the assigned shift. Completing discharge sheets is required. Accountability Accountable for the quality of cleanliness in assigned areas, equipment and cart. Accountable for ensuring safety and security, patient confidentiality and employee confidentiality. Minimum Education High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent (preferred). Minimum Experience Some work‑related experience preferred; willingness to train accepted. Previous experience preferred. Minimum Skills / Abilities Ability to read, write and communicate in English. Compensation Range $17.92 – $26.63 per hour. The range estimates pay based on minimum qualifications; total compensation includes benefits such as medical, dental, vision, pharmacy, FSA, 403(b) matching, paid time off and opportunities for career advancement.
