EVS Associate II

Position Summary According to established procedures, cleans and services all areas of the facility. Moves furniture, equipment and supplies in and around hospital departments, and performs a variety of environmental services duties to maintain the hospital in a neat, orderly and sanitary condition. Responds to fire or disaster codes as instructed by supervisor or manager. Essential Responsibilities / Duties Selects cleaning materials and supplies and prepares chemicals according to procedure. Loads maid’s carts and transports them to work areas. Cleans assigned areas by washing furniture, tile, fixtures and equipment with germicidal cleaning solutions. Washes high‑touch areas such as door knobs, handrails, telephone, wall plates, light switches, light pull cords, monitors, walls, doors, ceilings, vents, televisions and windows. Sweeps, mops, vacuums and spot‑cleans carpets using appropriate solutions, and arranges furniture and equipment after cleaning. Requests cleaning supplies and equipment as needed. Operates various kinds of cleaning equipment, both mechanical and electrical. Cleans equipment, notifies manager of needed repairs, and reports safety hazards. Cleans carts and equipment, ensuring all items are returned in an orderly manner. May climb ladder to hang drapes in cubicle and windows in an orderly manner. Collects waste from all areas of responsibility, including hazardous waste as established by policy. Cleans isolation rooms during patient stay and following discharge. Performs cleaning in operating suites using proper solutions and departmental procedures. Arranges furniture for meetings and may assist with delivery of laundry carts to patient areas. Job Requirements Reporting Requirements: Reports to the supervisor any beds that may not be completed during the assigned shift and completes discharge sheets. Accountability: Responsible for the quality of cleanliness of assigned areas, equipment and cart, as well as for ensuring safety and security, patient confidentiality, and employee confidentiality. Minimum Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent; preferred. Minimum Experience: Some work‑related experience preferred; the organization is willing to provide training. Minimum Skills/Abilities: Ability to read, write and communicate in English. Compensation Range: $17.92 – $26.63 per hour.
