Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Specialist Job Description

This role is responsible for managing incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy in order fulfillment, and maintaining inventory records. It plays a critical part in the supply chain by ensuring materials, parts, and products are received, stored, and shipped efficiently.

• Support all activities related to inbound shipments, including unloading deliveries from trailers to the dock using a hand truck and/or forklift, handling heavy equipment unloads, segregating inbound material into direct and indirect categories, and staging material within the facility to support all external teams.
• Assist the Production Control team with material moves to support quality inspection, putaway actions, and material issues for all production teams.
• Provide assistance to employees when preparing outbound parcel and freight shipments processed through the appropriate Shipment Request form.
• Help the Shipping & Receiving and Production Control teams clear out dunnage and remove empty boxes and crates from the inbound dock.

• Familiarity with spreadsheets such as Excel or Google Sheets.
• Experience supporting warehouse and production functions within a fast-paced organization, preferably in automotive, aerospace, or other related industries.
• Ability to analyze complex problems, identify root cause issues, and recommend solutions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other systems for work instructions creation.
• Experience with forklift operation, shipping and receiving, logistics, and inventory control.

• Familiarity with ERP/WMS systems is a nice-to-have qualification.

This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the ramp-up of a new site in the Midwest for a reputable EV company that is actively expanding and growing. The company had 60 employees last year and is now nearing 400 active employees, showcasing its rapid growth and innovative spirit.

The work environment is centered around an American commercial electric vehicle company on a mission to transform an industry in need of innovation. The team consists of EV, battery, and drivetrain experts who bring a first-of-its-kind EV platform to support the growing demand for medium-duty EVs and hybrids. The role requires the ability to lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50 pounds, as well as the ability to walk, stand, crouch, bench, kneel, lift, carry, and reach as needed in large and tight spaces.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sturgis, MI.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Sturgis,MI.
