On Site: EMR Documentation Integrity Specialist Health Information Management Oxford, NC Full Time, 1st, Monday - Friday On-Site: EMR Documentation Integrity Specialist Location: Granville Health System, Oxford NC Position Overview: The Health Information Management (HIM) Electronic Health Record (EMR) Documentation Integrity Specialist performs electronic processes related to the EMR system, including the HIM systems, record processing functions, and electronic master patient index. This position assigns, reviews, and corrects data integrity within the facility. The specialist reviews patient charts for accuracy and completeness, works closely with medical staff to correct deficiencies, and trains staff on appropriate use of the EMR system. Position Highlights: Starting Rate: $15.21 + per hour (commensurate with experience) Loan Forgiveness: Eligible employer for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and various supplemental benefits available Key Responsibilities: Reviews medical charts within the hospital including surgery, labor and delivery, inpatient, and works with physicians to ensure accurate documentation and correct data integrity. Communicates with HIM staff and outside departments to ensure accurate documentation in the EMR. Reports management on trends within the EMR that need to be corrected or addressed to support an accurate record. Serves as a back-up for EMR Specialist, ROI, and completing birth certificates as needed. Performs all other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications: High school graduate with some college-level training in medical terminology. Associate degree in Health Information Technology preferred.
