Real Estate Accounting Manager

We are seeking an experienced Real Estate Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations for a diverse commercial real estate portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in property accounting, lease accounting, and financial reporting, with hands-on experience managing complex lease agreements and reconciliations. Key Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day accounting operations for a portfolio of commercial real estate properties. Manage lease accounting activities, including lease administration, rent schedules, and compliance with ASC 842. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Oversee CAM reconciliations, operating expense allocations, and tenant billings. Review lease agreements to ensure accurate accounting treatment of rent escalations, abatements, and other lease provisions. Manage month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger activities. Partner with property management, leasing, and finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting. Assist with annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting efficiencies. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including commercial real estate accounting. Lease accounting experience required. Strong knowledge of ASC 842, CAM reconciliations, and commercial lease structures. Experience managing accounting for multiple properties or a real estate portfolio. Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements. Proficiency in Excel and real estate accounting software such as Yardi or MRI preferred. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Prior supervisory or management experience preferred.
