Safety Advisor

Under moderate supervision, the Safety Advisor assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs, procedures, and processes to assure personnel and facility safety. The Safety Advisor conducts trend analysis, audits, investigations, and site inspections of operational procedures, facility design, equipment, materials, and employee behaviors. The position analyzes data in compliance with current regulations and makes appropriate recommendations to prevent new or recurring accidents. The Safety Advisor also develops and/or conducts employee training, emergency preparedness, and quality assurance (QA) programs. The position evaluates and recommends new equipment purchases, new and modified processes, and non-routine work. Depending on the assignment, this position may require emphasis on industrial safety, emergency preparedness (including fire and medical response), industrial hygiene technology, and/or behavioral science. The Safety Advisor may also act as the lead person on small- to medium-sized projects. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Safety Management or a related field and 2 years of professional safety experience; or Associate's degree in Safety Management or a related field and 4 years of professional safety experience; or 6 years of professional safety experience.
