Medical AssistantWorking under the direction of physician/provider. The MA is responsible to assist in the examination and treatment of patients delivering high quality care and services, maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Please Note: UNLV Health does not provide employment sponsorships or sponsorship transfers for any positions.Advantages of Working for UNLV HealthClinic hours are Monday through Friday, 8AM to 5PM (actual scheduled hours may vary depending on business need)12+ paid holidays per year, starting with your first day of employment20+ PTO days per year3% 401K contribution, even if you do not contribute (after 90 days of employment)Medical, dental, and vision benefits that start the first of the month following your start dateEducation RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalencyGraduation from a medical assistant program requiredQualificationsOne year medical assisting experience in an ambulatory/clinical setting preferredCurrent, nationally recognized medical assistant certification or registration required or obtained within 90 days of employmentCurrent CPR certification or obtained within 90 days of employmentBasic computer literacy requiredKnowledge of medical terminology requiredGood communication and customer service skills requiredKnowledge of CLIA and OSHA guidelinesKnowledge of sterilization and disinfection proceduresKnowledge of HIPAA laws and ability to adhere to confidentiality policiesKnowledge of current medical assistant best practices and procedures including EKG and basic drugsKnowledge of medical and pharmacology terminology and medical office proceduresAbility to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced environmentExcellent time management skillsWorking knowledge of patient management software and basic Microsoft office products.
