What You'll Do

• Provide direct patient care to adult populations with complex medical conditions, including respiratory failure, sepsis, stroke, DKA, and post-procedural care
• Manage RN-to-patient ratios of 1:3, ensuring high-quality, individualized care
• Manage IV medications, arterial lines, CVLs, Foley catheters, and tube feeds with competency and confidence
• Screen and assess patients, including performing EKGs, with a passing score required pre-arrival
• Collaborate with charge nurses, resource nurses, RT, hospitalists, OT, PT, and ST teams to coordinate patient care
• Document accurately in Meditech Expanse EMR system and operate Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing system
• Adhere to hospital policies on professionalism, including proper uniform, badge visibility, and prohibition of cell phone use in patient areas
• Be flexible to float between units such as the stroke unit and med-surg, with support from specialized staff

What You Need

• Required:
• Active RN license in Louisiana
• 2+ years of acute care RN experience
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
• Proficiency in CVL and arterial line management, medication administration, and complex clinical skills
• Ability to pass an EKG competency exam prior to assignment
• Preferred:
• Experience with Meditech Expanse EMR and IV pump systems
• Experience managing Drip titration (Levophed, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Insulin)
• Flexible scheduling and weekend rotation availability
