What You'll Do
Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a PCU setting, including those with cardiac, stroke, and other medical conditions
Administer medications, including titratable drips such as Cardene, Cardizem, Heparin, and Insulin (with manager approval if experience lacking)
Assist with patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and respond to patient needs quickly and efficiently
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including RT, OT, PT, and hospitalist services
Manage patient documentation using Meditech Expanse EMR system
Support unit activities such as IV insertions, phlebotomy, and chest tube management as needed
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment
What You Need
Required:
Active RN license in Louisiana or eligible for licensure
Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care RN experience in a hospital setting
BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Certification (or ability to obtain before start)
Ability to pass EKG competency exam prior to arrival
Strong clinical skills including IV management and patient assessment
Preferred:
Experience with titratable infusions, chest tubes, traches, or peritoneal dialysis
Prior travel or bedside RN experience in PCU or Med-Surg units
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
