What You'll Do

• Provide direct patient care to diverse adult patient populations including those with respiratory failure, sepsis, stroke, DKA, post-catheterization, and vascular studies
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond to clinical changes accordingly
• Administer medications and IV therapy, including drip titration for medications like Levophed, Amiodarone, and Insulin
• Manage invasive lines such as CVL, arterial lines, and peripheral IVs
• Support patients with diabetes management, NG/PEG tube feedings, and wound care
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including hospitalists, RT, OT, PT, and ST for comprehensive patient care
• Document accurately in Meditech Expanse EMR system
• Float to other units such as Stroke and Med-Surg as needed (unit ratios 1:3 and 1:5-6 respectively)
• Maintain professionalism and adhere to hospital policies on conduct, PPE, and dress code

What You Need

• Active RN license in the state of Louisiana or eligible for licensure reciprocity
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care RN experience, including Med/Surg and telemetry
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Ability to pass an EKG competency exam prior to start
• Proficiency in managing IVs, arterial lines, and medication titration
• Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills
