Job OverviewOur organization is in search of a committed Registered Nurse to join the Oncology Float Pool at our New Brunswick campus. This facility serves as the primary teaching hospital within our health system and is one of only three Level 1 trauma centers in the state. Renowned for its exceptional clinical quality, we are dedicated to providing outstanding patient care. Our team is focused on ensuring safe, high-quality treatment for all individuals.

Nurses in our float pool are highly esteemed for their ability to deliver exceptional care across diverse patient populations, including those in trauma, neurology, cardiology, orthopedics, and oncology. Float pool nurses exhibit expertise, adaptability, resilience, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and effective teamwork. As we expand our team, we aim to continue providing our units with skilled nursing professionals.
QualificationsRequired:
- Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Oncology
Preferred:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or completion within 5 years of hire
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) certification is preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications
- Active Registered Nurse License in New Jersey
- Night shift, 36 hours per week, from 7 PM to 7:30 AM
- Monday to Friday, with some weekends and holiday rotations
- Part-time position
- The Registered Nurse delivers nursing care within the healthcare system, adhering to the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards while upholding ethical practice as outlined by the ANA code of ethics.
- Ensures safety in practice, incorporating evidence-based principles and recognizing their own knowledge and experience levels, while taking responsibility for enhancing their own and others' knowledge within the patient care team.
- Responsible for reporting safety concerns, including hazardous conditions and medical errors.
- Maintains knowledge of the patient demographics served.
- Supervises and directs the delegation of tasks to appropriate team members, collaborating with other healthcare providers.
- Consistently sets and evaluates priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes aimed at improvement.
- Acts as an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team manager, utilizing the nursing process to integrate all aspects of care and tailoring the care plan to meet specific patient needs.
