Position Overview

We are looking for a committed Registered Nurse to join our Nursing Float Pool in Oncology at the New Brunswick campus. This part-time role involves working 36 hours per week during the night shift.

Nurses in our float pool play a crucial role, delivering exceptional care across various specialties, including trauma, neurology, cardiology, orthopedics, and oncology. They exemplify nursing expertise, adaptability, resilience, effective communication, and teamwork. We are expanding our float pool team to ensure our units are supported by skilled nursing professionals.

Qualifications

Required:

• Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities
• Proficient in computer skills

Preferred:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or completion within five years of hire
• 2-3 years of experience in Medical Surgical/Oncology

Certifications and Licenses

• Current BLS and ACLS certification
• Active Registered Nurse License in New Jersey

Scheduling Requirements

• Night shift, 36 hours per week, from 7 PM to 7:30 AM
• Monday to Friday, with some weekends and holiday rotations
• Part-time position

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care within the scope defined by the Nurse Practice Act and adhere to ethical standards as outlined by the ANA code of ethics.
• Ensure safety in practice, incorporating evidence-based principles while recognizing personal knowledge and experience levels.
• Report safety concerns, including hazardous conditions and medical errors.
• Maintain knowledge of the patient demographics served.
• Supervise and guide the delegation of tasks to appropriate team members, collaborating with other healthcare providers.
• Set and assess priorities through effective interventions aimed at measurable outcomes.
• Act as an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team manager, utilizing the nursing process to tailor care plans to meet specific patient needs.
