Our organization is in search of a committed Registered Nurse for the Oncology Float Pool at our New Brunswick campus.

This is a part-time position requiring 36 hours per week during night shifts.

We are looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Oncology Float Pool Department at the New Brunswick campus.

Our facility serves as the primary teaching hospital within our health system and is one of only three Level 1 trauma centers in the state. This academic medical center is recognized for its exceptional clinical quality and commitment to providing outstanding patient care. Our team is devoted to ensuring safe, high-quality care for all patients.

Nurses in our float pool are highly esteemed for their ability to deliver exceptional care across various patient populations, including those in trauma, neurology, cardiology, orthopedics, and oncology. Float pool nurses exhibit expertise, adaptability, resilience, effective communication, and strong teamwork skills. We are expanding our team to ensure that our units continue to benefit from expert nursing care.

Required:

• Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities
• Proficient in computer skills

Preferred:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or completion within 5 years of hire
• 2-3 years of experience in Medical Surgical/Oncology

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Active Registered Nurse License in New Jersey

• Night shifts, 36 hours per week, from 7 PM to 7:30 AM
• Monday to Friday, with some weekends and holiday rotations
• Part-time position

• The Registered Nurse delivers nursing care within the scope defined by the Nurse Practice Act and adheres to ethical standards as outlined by the ANA code of ethics.
• Ensures safety in practice and incorporates evidence-based principles, while being aware of personal knowledge and experience levels, and takes responsibility for enhancing knowledge for self and the patient care team.
• Responsible for reporting safety concerns, including hazardous conditions and medical errors.
• Maintains knowledge of the patient demographics served.
• Supervises and directs task delegation to appropriate team members and collaborates with other healthcare providers.
• Sets and evaluates priorities consistently through appropriate interventions aimed at measurable outcomes.
• Acts as an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team manager, utilizing the nursing process to integrate all aspects of care and tailor the care plan to meet specific patient needs.
