Cindy Bradley at Robert Half is currently partnering with a fast-paced, growth-oriented company in the transportation/logistics space seeking an Assistant Controller to support the CFO and lead day-to-day accounting operations.

This is a high-impact leadership role combining hands-on accounting with team development, process improvement, and operational support.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead month-end and year-end close, including financial reporting and reconciliations
• Oversee AP, AR, billing, and driver payroll functions
• Strengthen internal controls and drive process improvements (SOPs, automation, KPIs)
• Manage collections strategy and improve invoicing efficiency
• Partner with operations on driver settlements and key reporting
• Supervise and develop a growing accounting team

What We’re Looking For:

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience (transportation/logistics highly preferred)
• Strong Microsoft Dynamics GP experience (required)
• Proven leadership and ability to train/develop staff
• Expertise in month-end close, JEs, reconciliations, and internal controls
• Experience improving processes and implementing efficiencies

• At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including responsibilities aligned with an Assistant Controller or senior accounting role.
• Demonstrated success managing month-end close activities in a fast-paced business environment.
• Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Experience producing accurate financial reporting and interpreting results for management review.
• Hands-on proficiency with Dynamics and Dynamics GP.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, and reporting best practices.
• Advanced attention to detail, organizational ability, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
