Assistant Financial Controller

Houston / Temp to Perm Compensation: $100k - $150k We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Assistant Controller to join our growing logistics organization. This individual will support the Controller in overseeing daily accounting operations, financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close activities while helping ensure accuracy and efficiency across the accounting function. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with large volumes of operational and financial data, including international accounting operations. Key Responsibilities Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations Perform detailed account, data, and report reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial information Maintain and analyze general ledger activity, including debits and credits Prepare financial reports, variance analysis, and supporting schedules for leadership review Support domestic and international accounting operations, including multi-entity and cross-border accounting activities Ensure compliance with international accounting processes, currency transactions, and intercompany reconciliations Utilize NetSuite and other reporting systems to manage accounting and operational data Support internal controls, audit preparation, and process improvement initiatives Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, finance, and leadership teams to resolve discrepancies and improve reporting accuracy Analyze large data sets in Excel and create reports to support operational and financial decision-making Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other accounting functions as needed Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve reporting efficiencies Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred 3+ years of accounting or assistant controller experience, preferably within logistics, transportation, distribution, or supply chain environments Strong understanding of accounting principles, debits and credits, and financial reporting International accounting experience is required Experience with month-end close processes and account reconciliations Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs, and data analysis Experience using ERP and reporting systems, preferably NetSuite Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment Excellent communication and organizational skills Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus, but not required Preferred Traits Collaborative and team-oriented Highly organized and analytical Adaptable in a fast-paced environment Strong sense of ownership and accountability Comfortable working with large data sets and operational reporting This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing hands-on accounting responsibilities with process improvement, operational support, and international accounting exposure in a growing logistics environment. #J-18808-Ljbffr ARTEMIS EXECUTIVE PARTNERS
