Club Roundnet Coach

Description University of San Francisco, Department of Recreational Sports, Division of University Life. Job Title: Club Roundnet Coach Department: Recreational Sports Department (RSD) Responsible To: Recreation Manager Job Purpose The Head Coach is responsible for the training and development of the Roundnet Sport Club program at the University of San Francisco (USF). The goal of the program is to increase participation on campus and competitive performance through regional competition. Main Duties & Responsibilities Delivery of a sport-specific training program; development of a sport-specific plan, including all practice sessions and matches; management of the team at all club functions; team selection for all matches and tournaments; scheduling of all practices and matches via the Recreation Manager; inventory of equipment; liaison between team participants and the Recreation Manager; interpretation and application of rules; procurement of required certifications; compliance with safety and participation standards; transportation of participants to and from away matches and tournaments; knowledge of concussion management, CPR, and First Aid; creation of a productive learning environment to ensure individual and club growth. Job Activities to Include: Coach participants throughout the academic year; assist participants in distributing team information, posters, and leaflets; ensure participants operate within rules of the sport and USF; assist in collation of information and entries; attend organized club events and meetings; maintain waivers, memberships, and insurance forms; adhere to procedures and quality standards; undertake other duties as directed. Working Hours & Schedule Hours may vary due to practice time, facility availability, matches, tournaments, travel or extra training sessions. Reporting Structure You will report directly to the Recreation Manager within the RSD. Decision Making & Influence Planning and organizing all functions of the club; selecting players for match/tournament days; player selection criteria include: current USF student in good standing; minimum two weeks of sport-specific conditioning; practiced a minimum of two days prior; skill level meets or exceeds match participation. Constraints Adherence to General Health and Safety; attendance at all practice sessions, matches, and tournaments required. Knowledge & Records Maintain General health and safety for the sport; data protection; player protection; injury reports and prevention. Compile and record monthly reports and information; file and communicate with the Recreation Manager. Budget Proposed budget and accountability of any allocated budget is the responsibility of the post holder, including equipment, facility usage, league dues, travel costs, tournament fees and other expenses. Education and Experience Sports-specific qualification and at least 1-2 years of relevant experience.
