Position Description As an Applebee’s® Assistant Manager, you will be engaged in all aspects of daily restaurant operations, leading a team to ensure guests and staff are passionate about their experience. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Ensures timely, friendly service according to company guidelines, achieving established objectives of the unit. Cultivates a culture in accordance with the Flynn Applebee’s Premier Card of core values and beliefs. Ensures the immediate response and correction of all verbal guest complaints to self and staff. Ensures guest contact as a priority with completion of required table visits established by Flynn Applebee’s standards. Maintains departmental inventory levels. Ensures product preparation and presentation uncompromisingly meet company standards by performing line checks. Effectively schedules employees to meet sales demands. Maintains effective safety and security programs. Promotes and leads restaurant organization, cleanliness and sanitation. Performs routine maintenance and immediately reports needed repairs to the General Manager/Area Director. Promotes quality recruitment and referrals of potential team member and management candidates. Promotes Flynn | Applebee’s training procedures for new managers. Helps maintain a trained staff through effective use of employment orientation, individual training sessions, employee meetings and implementation of company policy and training systems. Participates in the constant development of employees using One‑on‑One meetings and performance documentation, contributing to written evaluations. Assesses employee efficiency, provides fair feedback regularly, and works with employees on development areas. Monitors acceptable employee performance and documents situations that may lead to disciplinary or corrective action. Ensures compliance with company policies, practices and procedures. Controls cost in the assigned department. Complies with local, state and federal laws, regulations and guidelines. Drives bi‑weekly/weekly food and liquor inventories at the AD/GM’s request and is accountable for completion. Prepares and submits accurate daily paperwork. Ensures sanitation standards meet or exceed Health Department and Flynn Applebee’s standards. Provides a role model for managers and employees. Develops self on all store‑related technology. Is willing and able to work in all positions and assist in team member roles as needed (e.g., cooking on the line, expo, seating guests, bartending). Uses the Management Development Program for continuous growth of leadership skills and proficiencies. Education and Experience At least 2–3 years restaurant management experience. Serve Safe Food and Serve Safe Alcohol certifications are a plus. Compensation Applebee’s® Assistant Managers earn $15.38 to $26.44 per hour, approximately $44,850 to $68,500 annually based on a 50‑hour work week. Potential monthly bonus may apply based on location. Physical Standards Work various shifts, including weekends. Stand and move well‑paced for up to ten (10) hours. Safely lift pots, pans, glassware, boxes, etc., up to 50 pounds. Read and write to facilitate communication; possess finger and hand dexterity for small tools and equipment.
