Overview
Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery in Bakersfield, California. This travel, temporary assignment starts 09/21/2026 and runs for 14 weeks. Weekly pay ranges from $2,598 to $2,798 per week. Shift is nights, consisting of 12-hour shifts (3x12 nights per week), with 36 hours scheduled per week. Care setting is a labor and delivery unit within a health system that requires skilled, compassionate obstetric nursing care delivered to patients and their families.

Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for labor and delivery patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Monitor maternal and fetal status, respond to changes, administer medications per orders, and support during labor and delivery including delivery assistance and postpartum care.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; coordinate care with obstetricians, anesthesia, neonatal team, and other disciplines.
- Utilize critical thinking, professional judgment, and clinical discretion to ensure patient safety, comfort, and optimized outcomes.
- Document assessments, plans, treatments, and evaluations accurately; communicate changes to the care team promptly.
- Maintain infection control practices, patient advocacy, and essential safety protocols in a fast-paced unit.

Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in California
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Labor and Delivery experience or strong obstetric nursing background (preferred)
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts
- Willingness to participate in a 14-week travel assignment
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
