Retail Assistant Manager

Overview As the Assistant Store Manager, you support the Store Manager by rocking out strong leadership skills and ensuring a stellar guest experience. You hold down the daily operations of the store as needed. You train, motivate and celebrate associates and you have a passion for driving killer sales results. Responsibilities Passion for driving sales: drive sales by maximizing fitting room and sales floor productivity and building guest loyalty through a best‑in‑class, in‑store guest experience. People leader: motivate and inspire the team through O’Neill’s core values, hold associates accountable to service standards, especially on the sales floor and in the fitting room. Love of training: take pride in training and developing associates to provide outstanding service and represent a guest‑first culture. Teamwork: challenge sales associates with clear, attainable goals and provide ongoing performance feedback through real‑time coaching; celebrate outstanding performance; assist the Store Manager in recruiting, interviewing and hiring. Visual & operational innovator: execute and innovate daily visual and operational procedures, including shipment processing, merchandising moves and visual standards; ensure fitting rooms are always guest‑ready. Integrity: maintain store safety standards, uphold asset protection, adhere to O’Neill’s policies and procedures, and always do the right thing. Qualifications One year of retail management experience. Ability to multi‑task, pay attention to detail, and excel at priority‑setting and time management. Hearing: must be able to hear well enough to communicate with customers, vendors and employees. Climbing/stooping/kneeling: must be able to climb, reach, bend and lift. Lifting/pulling/pushing: must be able to lift up to 30 pounds and work a sales floor. Fingering/grasping/feeling: must be able to type and use technical sources.
