Centralized Material Estimating Analyst - Level 4

Lockheed Martin

Description Centralized Material Estimating Analyst – Level 4 What You Will Be Doing As a Centralized Material Estimating Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial foundation of major programs by developing and validating high‑quality material cost estimates. You will partner closely with cross‑functional teams—including Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance, and Program Management—to build accurate cost projections that support proposals, negotiations, and strategic business decisions. In this role, you will bring together data, requirements, and technical inputs to create defensible Basis of Estimates (BOEs) and ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal standards. You will also serve as a subject‑matter resource to teammates and stakeholders, helping drive consistency, accuracy, and excellence across the estimating function. Key Responsibilities Develop, analyze, and document complex material cost estimates in support of program proposals. Create, update, and maintain material BOEs that clearly define scope, methodology, assumptions, and rationale. Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance, and Program teams to obtain accurate data and align on estimate requirements. Support internal proposal reviews, customer fact‑finding, audits, and negotiations with DCMA, DCAA, and other external stakeholders. Prepare comparative analyses and cost‑scenario evaluations to support decision‑making and risk assessment. Present estimating approaches, data, and findings to leadership and cross‑functional teams. Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced estimators on estimating standards, tools, techniques, and compliance requirements. Lead or support estimating coordination activities for large or complex proposals, ensuring schedule alignment and deliverable quality. Perform special projects, cost studies, or process improvement efforts as assigned. Who You Are You are a detail‑oriented and analytical professional with experience in cost estimating, financial analysis, material forecasting, or proposal support within a complex manufacturing or aerospace environment. You thrive in a collaborative setting and are skilled at partnering across Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Finance, and Program Management teams to develop accurate and well‑supported material cost estimates. You have experience interpreting technical and program requirements, building defensible Basis of Estimates (BOEs), and analyzing large sets of cost and material data to support strategic business decisions. You are comfortable presenting findings and recommendations to leadership, supporting proposal reviews and audits, and ensuring compliance with estimating standards and customer requirements. You are recognized for your strong communication skills, critical thinking, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. You also enjoy mentoring others, driving process improvements, and contributing to the overall success and consistency of the estimating organization. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting/Finance, Business, or another related discipline. Experience with data analytics and analysis. Desired Skills Pricing or functional estimating experience in materials, engineering, operations, and/or sustainment. Familiarity or experience with FAR, Part 15 proposal requirements. Experience coordinating complex estimates with changing requirements. Experience using proposal pricing systems or BOE tools such as PROPRICER, APTS, or BOE other tool usage. Experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint at an advanced or expert level. Experience in Tableau. Proven communication and leadership skills. Security Clearance This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a US Citizen for consideration. Clearance Level: Secret. Equal Opportunity Employment Lockheed Martin is an equal opportunity employer. Qualified candidates will be considered without regard to legally protected characteristics. #J-18808-Ljbffr Lockheed Martin
