Enterprise Data Architect

CTG is seeking to fill an Enterprise Data Architect position for our client. Location: New York, NY Duration: 5 months Duties Lead the architecture and design of enterprise-scale data platforms that support secure, scalable, and high-performance data solutions. Define enterprise data architecture standards, data models, and governance frameworks. Collaborate with business, engineering, and technology teams to develop modern data platform strategies and integration solutions. Design scalable data ingestion, transformation, storage, metadata management, and data consumption architectures. Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance throughout the project lifecycle. Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative enterprise data solutions. Ensure compliance with enterprise security, governance, and regulatory requirements. Develop architecture documentation, roadmaps, and best practices for enterprise data management. Required Skills Enterprise Data Architecture Data Engineering Enterprise Data Platform Design Strong knowledge of cloud-based data platforms, data lakes, data warehouses, and distributed data architectures. Experience with data modeling, metadata management, data governance, and enterprise integration patterns. Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Nice to Have Skills Experience with Project Nessie or equivalent transactional catalog tooling for Apache Iceberg. Knowledge of medical imaging (DICOM), multi-modal clinical data integration, omics, or real-world data. Familiarity with FAIR data principles for life sciences data platforms. Experience with Apache Airflow, Temporal, or similar workflow orchestration platforms. Previous experience delivering fixed-fee, milestone-based projects within regulated enterprise environments. Experience 10+ years of enterprise data architecture and data engineering experience. Proven success designing and implementing enterprise-scale data platforms. Experience establishing enterprise architecture standards and governance practices. Strong background collaborating with cross‑functional technical and business teams. Healthcare, life sciences, or other regulated industry experience is highly desirable. Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Master's degree preferred. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
