Position Overview

DTI is seeking a highly experienced Senior SAP ABAP Developer to support a large-scale SAP S/4HANA initiative focused on embedded analytics, reporting modernization, supply chain operations, and product sourcing.

This role will serve as a senior technical contributor responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing SAP applications, analytics solutions, and integrations within an SAP S/4HANA environment. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in ABAP development, Core Data Services (CDS) Views, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), Fiori/UI5 development, and SAP S/4HANA Embedded Analytics.

The consultant will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, functional teams, architects, and product sourcing teams to deliver scalable analytics and application solutions that support enterprise reporting, operational visibility, and business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

SAP Development & Technical Design

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain SAP applications using ABAP and SAP development frameworks.
• Translate business and functional requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Develop custom enhancements, reports, interfaces, forms, workflows, and applications within SAP S/4HANA.
• Design and maintain technical specifications, development documentation, and support artifacts.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application defects, integration issues, and performance bottlenecks.

SAP Embedded Analytics & CDS Development

• Design and develop ABAP Core Data Services (CDS) Views to support embedded analytics and enterprise reporting requirements.
• Build analytical CDS views utilizing annotations, associations, parameters, and virtual data models.
• Develop reusable reporting frameworks and semantic layers for analytics consumption.
• Create and optimize Virtual Data Models (VDMs) to support business reporting and operational analytics.
• Implement row-level security and data access controls across reporting solutions.
• Ensure reporting governance, data integrity, and compliance requirements are met.

SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) Reporting

• Develop and support SAP Analytics Cloud reporting, dashboards, and visualization solutions.
• Expose CDS Views and analytical models for SAC consumption.
• Optimize end-user reporting experiences through effective data modeling and visualization design.
• Support performance tuning and troubleshooting across reporting and visualization layers.
• Partner with business stakeholders to deliver actionable reporting and analytical insights.

SAP Fiori & UI5 Development

• Design, develop, and support SAP Fiori applications and user experiences.
• Build responsive SAP UI5 applications integrated with SAP S/4HANA services.
• Develop OData services and APIs supporting enterprise applications.
• Enhance user adoption through intuitive application design and modern user interfaces.

SAP RAP, CAP & Modern Development Frameworks

• Design and develop applications utilizing RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model).
• Support development initiatives leveraging CAP (Cloud Application Programming Model).
• Build modern SAP application architectures aligned with SAP best practices.
• Contribute to cloud-native development initiatives within SAP environments.

Integration & Enterprise Connectivity

• Design and maintain integrations between SAP and external enterprise applications.
• Develop interfaces supporting Product Sourcing, Procurement, Quotation Management, and Supply Chain operations.
• Support SAP BTP Integration Suite and Cloud Integration solutions.
• Utilize SAP API Hub and API Management services for secure integration design.

Quality Assurance & DevOps

• Participate in full software development lifecycle activities including design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
• Perform code reviews and enforce development standards.
• Support CI/CD processes and modern DevOps delivery practices.
• Develop unit tests, integration tests, and automated testing solutions.
• Participate in release management and deployment activities.

Agile Delivery & Collaboration

• Work within Agile Scrum and Kanban delivery teams.
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, retrospectives, and daily standups.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Functional Consultants, Architects, and Business Stakeholders.
• Utilize Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and related collaboration tools.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior developers when appropriate.

Required Qualifications

Mandatory

• 10+ years of SAP ABAP development experience.
• Strong SAP S/4HANA development experience.
• Deep expertise in ABAP CDS Views development.
• Strong SAP S/4HANA Embedded Analytics experience.
• Hands-on SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) reporting and analytics experience.
• Experience building and exposing CDS Views for Fiori, OData, and SAC consumption.
• Strong understanding of SAP HANA data modeling and Virtual Data Models (VDM).
• Experience implementing row-level security and reporting governance controls.
• SAP Fiori and SAP UI5 development experience.
• Experience designing and developing OData services.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills.
• Experience translating functional specifications into technical solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working within Agile development environments.
• Experience utilizing Jira, Confluence, Teams, and related collaboration tools.

Rate: $70-$75hr depending on experience
