Position: Class A CDL Driver – Regional / OTR as Needed

Home Base: Bakersfield, California

Ka Sheng Transportation LLC is looking for a dependable and professional Class A CDL driver to join our team. This position will primarily handle regional freight throughout California and surrounding states, with Over-the-Road (OTR) trips assigned as needed based on customer demand.

We are looking for a driver who is flexible, communicates well, takes care of company equipment, and can safely handle both regional and longer-distance trips.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Class A commercial vehicle safely and professionally.
• Run regional routes throughout California and surrounding states.
• Be available for OTR trips when needed.
• Complete pickups and deliveries safely and on schedule.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Maintain accurate electronic logs and comply with Hours of Service regulations.
• Communicate with dispatch regarding pickups, deliveries, delays, equipment issues, and route changes.
• Keep assigned truck clean and report maintenance concerns promptly.
• Properly handle bills of lading, delivery paperwork, fuel receipts, and other required documents.
• Follow all DOT, FMCSA, company, and customer safety requirements.
• Follow all procedures required when transporting Hazmat and tanker loads.
• Represent Ka Sheng Transportation professionally when dealing with customers, facilities, brokers, and other drivers.

Driver Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL.
• Hazmat endorsement required.
• Tanker endorsement required.
• Current TWIC card required.
• Acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass DOT drug and alcohol screening requirements.
• Current DOT medical certificate.
• Ability to operate safely in different traffic and weather conditions.
• Reliable communication and attendance.
• Must be comfortable staying overnight in the truck when an OTR load requires it.
• Must be flexible with scheduling depending on freight and customer needs.

Schedule

This is a  regional position with OTR travel as needed . Most assignments will be regional, but drivers must be willing to take longer trips when required.

Routes may include California, Oregon, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and other states depending on available freight and customer needs.

Home time will depend on the assigned route, with an emphasis on getting drivers home regularly whenever freight allows.
