Location: Sarasota, FL 34239

Duration: 6-month contract

Pay: $21.19/ hr on W2

Summary: The Medical Assistant 2 serves as the first point of contact for patient care and is responsible for both administrative and clinical duties in an outpatient setting. The role involves moderately complex assignments and requires the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Duties
• Gather patient symptoms and update Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
• Record vital signs.
• Administer injections and perform diagnostic tests.
• Collect specimens and perform blood draws.
• Clean, sterilize, and maintain medical equipment.
• Prepare and maintain examination rooms.
• Deliver patient care within certification scope.
• Collaborate with Physicians and Nurses.
• Administrative Duties
• Perform operational and customer support tasks.
• Handle documentation and communication via systems (e.g., MS Outlook).
• Perform basic computations and reporting tasks.
• Follow departmental policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

• 1–3 years of Medical Assistant experience (back-office/direct patient care).
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Valid certification/licensure (RMA or CMA).
• Current CPR certification.
• Less than 2 years of professional leadership experience.
• Basic computer knowledge (including MS Outlook).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
• Passion for improving patient/consumer experience.

Preferred Qualification

High School Diploma.

Hands-on Phlebotomy experience.

Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.

Additional requirements: 1-3 years years experience required.
