Position Title:BSFT TherapistPosition Type:Full Time, Salary, ExemptSchedule:35 hours/weekFormat:HybridDepartment/Program:Brief Strategic Family Therapy, Family Support and EmpowermentLocation:1946 Webster Ave., Bronx, NY 10457Direct Supervisor:Administrative Supervisor, BSFT or Director, BSFTDirect Reports (if any):N/AAbout Graham:Graham provides life-changing tools and resources for children, young adults and families who face some of the most difficult obstacles caused by poverty, racial injustice, and lack of access to educational opportunities, living wage employment, quality healthcare, and affordable housing.We collaborate with communities and strong partners to create and implement innovative strategies so everyone can lead healthy, joyful, and successful lives.Program Description:Graham Windham’s Intensive Prevention Program combines the Solution-Based Casework (SBC) method and the evidence-based Brief Strategic Family Therapy (BSFT) modality to promote child safety and well-being, reduce risks to children and youth, and prevent foster care placement.Principal Objective/Role Overview:The Prevention Brief Strategic Family Therapist works as part of a prevention team to promote child safety and well-being, reduce risks to children and youth, and prevent foster care placement. This intervention employs a team approach between the therapist, a case planner, the program supervisor and the model developer to engage the entire family into the intervention, while simultaneously remaining attuned to environmental and familial safety and risk issues. Program will offer 8 clinical hours.Job Responsibilities:Develops and maintains therapeutic relationships with all family members.Continuously assess for any safety and risk issues.Conducts weekly sessions with the entire family using Brief Strategic Family Therapy, predominantly in the home.Provides services to a caseload of 10 families.Strives to engage all family members and stakeholders in the family level treatment.Participates in all aspects of the BSFT implementation including training, individual and weekly supervision, video and audio-taping sessions, and participating in evaluations of their competency.Become certified in Solutions Based Casework within the first year of their employment, consistent with the agency’s focus on implementing this model across all child welfare serving programs.Submit all required documentation to both ACS and BSFT in a timely fashion.Using investigatory and social work skills, they engage and partner with families and community resources to ensure the safety and well-being of childrenComplete family visits to conduct casework contacts and BSFT sessionsEngage in a strengths-based approach with families in order to assess their individual and collective strengths and needsInterview family members and others who interact with the family to assess child safety and well-beingAssess the risk of future abuse or neglect of children in the familyIf a safety concern arises, develop a safety plan with family membersCoordinate a team of family members, staff and service providers to evaluate safety and identify interventions that can reduce risks to childrenEnter and maintain accurate and timely computerized records of all case informationHelp families navigate government agencies and access entitlement benefitsPosition Qualifications:Master’s degree in psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy or mental health counselingA minimum of 2 years of clinical experience is preferred.Will consider candidates with Full two years of master’s level internship hours completed and other qualifying work experience with families.Fluent in Spanish highly preferred with an additional $2,000.00 salary additive extended to candidates who successfully demonstrate Spanish fluency through a language exam administered during the pre-hire processStrong interest in family systems work.Clinical hours will be offered to our Therapists towards MSW licensure for all family sessions and weekly clinical group supervision with our model manager.Salary & Compensation:Base Salary: $75,000 - $77,000FLSA Status: ExemptBenefits Eligibility: This role is eligible to participate in our Performance Based Merit Award program at the end of each fiscal year, and eligible for benefits including health insurance, retirement plans (pension and 403B thrift), career coaching via Bravely, and more!EEO Statement:The Equal Employment Opportunity Policy of Graham is to provide a fair and equal employment opportunity for all associates and job applicants regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, or disability.
