Fabrication Helper

Location: Houston, TX Shifts: Day & Night Shifts Available Pay: $18.00–$21.00 per hour, depending on experience Night Shift Premium: Additional 10% for qualifying night-shift hours Position Summary Apache Workforce is seeking Fabrication Helpers to support manufacturing and fabrication operations in Houston. This position assists Fitters, Welders, and other production team members with material preparation, assembly, shop activities, and general fabrication tasks. The ideal candidate will have some experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, construction, or industrial environment and be comfortable working with tools and materials. Responsibilities Review work assignments and gather tools and materials needed for production. Assist Fitters, Welders, and supervisors with fabrication activities. Clean, measure, organize, and stage materials for production. Assist with preparing and positioning materials and fabricated components. Use basic hand and power tools as directed. Assist with tack welding when trained and authorized. Follow blueprints, work instructions, and production procedures as applicable. Assist with basic tool and equipment inspections. Help move and position materials using appropriate equipment and procedures. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Follow established safety and housekeeping procedures. Participate in safety meetings and job-related training. Report equipment concerns or unsafe conditions to supervision. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous experience in fabrication, manufacturing, construction, or a related environment preferred. Familiarity with basic fabrication tools and equipment. Ability to read a tape measure and use basic measuring tools. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Basic understanding of fabrication and shop processes. Experience with tack welding is a plus. Forklift or overhead crane experience is a plus. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices. Ability to work effectively with Fitters, Welders, supervisors, and other team members. Preferred Experience 2+ years of fabrication or related industrial experience. Forklift experience or certification. Overhead crane experience. Basic tack-welding experience. Familiarity with 5S or lean manufacturing practices. Previous experience in a fabrication or manufacturing shop. This position is performed in a manufacturing and fabrication shop environment and may involve exposure to industrial equipment, materials, noise, dust, and varying temperatures. The position may require: Standing and moving throughout the work area for extended periods. Bending, reaching, and performing repetitive shop tasks. Handling and moving materials weighing up to approximately 50 pounds. Assisting with positioning and staging materials and components. Working in areas that may not be climate controlled. Typical PPE may include: Safety glasses Hearing protection in designated areas Additional PPE as required for specific tasks Compensation $18.00–$21.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
