Senior Product Designer

Senior Design Contributor You'll join our design team – working alongside our Product Designer and Lead Product Designer – as a senior contributor across the patient mobile app and care-team desktop app, owning specific product surfaces end-to-end and raising the craft bar within your area. You'll report directly to the VP of Product, and partner closely with the Lead Product Designer on shared design system standards, growing our research practice, and raising the bar on the team's design craft. Craft Contributor Your work sets the example within your surface area, and raises the bar for the team around you. Deliver high-quality, well-reasoned design from problem framing through shipped product. Give structured critique that builds design taste and judgment in others. Contribute to our evolving design system across web and mobile surfaces. Researcher You run and synthesize lean research, and share those learnings with peers. Lead qualitative and quantitative research with care teams and Medicare patients. Recognize when data or research is missing and go get it — designing the study, recruiting, and synthesizing findings. Translate complex clinical workflows into clear, intuitive software interactions. Discovery Partner You bring a user-grounded point of view to the product decisions that shape your surface. Participate in product decisions as a full voice, grounded in user insight. Push back when a problem needs more framing before solutions are explored. Frame recommendations in the language of outcomes and impact. Communicator You tell a crisp story that connects the design to the people it serves. Confidently present design work to cross-functional peers, innovation partners, and executives when needed. Use story maps, journey maps, and similar tools so product, design, and engineering align on risks and priorities. Bring patient and clinician voices into trade-off discussions so core perspectives shape final decisions. Must Have 5–7+ years of experience in product design, with a portfolio showing end-to-end ownership from research through shipped product. Strong research skills: able to run a usability study, synthesize findings quickly, and share what you learn with others. Hands-on with AI/ML-powered product design. You have experimented with AI or ML features, and can explain what "good" looks like. Experience contributing to and working within a shared design system (web + mobile), in partnership with other designers and engineers. Solid accessibility practice baked into your work (keyboard and screen-reader flows, clear focus states, robust interaction patterns). Familiarity with product analytics tools (e.g., Amplitude) to uncover usage patterns and inform design decisions. Active use of AI design and research tooling (e.g., Claude, Figma Make or equivalents) to accelerate prototyping, synthesis, and research; teaches others to do the same. Ability to craft compelling design stories that win buy-in from engineers and cross-functional stakeholders. Comfort giving and receiving structured feedback, with genuine interest in helping other designers grow, even without a formal mentorship mandate. Nice To Have Background in healthcare, clinical, or regulated software. You understand what HIPAA and clinical workflows mean for design decisions. Behavioral science experience; designing for habit formation, engagement, or behavior change. Familiarity with CCM, RPM, or chronic disease management platforms. AI/ML product design experience in a healthcare or clinical context: conversational interfaces, clinical decision support, or data-heavy dashboards. WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility expertise in a regulated health context. Who You Are A builder. Most energized when you are crafting something new, not polishing something established. Mission-driven. Working Conditions Fully remote: open to candidates in Canada or the United States. EST/CST overlap preferred for core collaboration hours. Occasional in-person team meetings in Ottawa, London (Ontario) and Toronto, Canada areas (travel required on a quarterly basis at minimum).
