Travel RN - Operating RoomAmerican TravelerMilwaukee, Wisconsin, United StatesPosition ID: P-754503Position status: On HoldAssignment type: travelShift: DaysLength (weeks): 13Openings: 1Start date: 2026-10-05$3,056.00/week (estimated advertised weekly pay)DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring a strong Orthopedic background and WI or compact RN licensure.DetailsWork in the Surgery Room/OR suites (21 total) of a Level III Trauma Center and Level III NICU hospital with Magnet designation.8-hour day shift schedule with variable start times between 0530-0700.Orthopedic case focus including fractures, anterior hips, total joints, ortho spine, and hand/podiatry procedures.Uses Hanna Table for ortho procedures.Also cross-trained to General Main OR specialty and Urology center, including Neuro/ENT and General surgery cases (spine, cranial, ENT, breast/plastics, vascular, laparoscopic, oncology, GU, GYN, robotics).Navigation equipment experience may include Medtronic, Medtronic Stealth, Stryker, and Synaptive systems.EPIC EMR used.Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing system used.On-call required with an 8-week rotating call schedule and 30-minute response time (no call room available).Weekend on-call rotation of 1-2 weekends per call cycle (24-hour Saturday/Sunday shifts).Floating limited to General Main OR specialty and Urology center within the facility only, no floating to other sites.RequirementsActive WI or compact RN license required.BLS certification required.Minimum 2 years of Operating Room experience required.Minimum 12 months of core OR specialty experience with most recent experience within the last year.Strong Orthopedic surgical background required.EPIC EMR experience required.At least 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN.Candidate's middle name or initial, date of birth, and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration.Additional InformationPerform circulating and/or scrub RN duties across Orthopedic, Neuro/ENT, and General surgical specialties.Support provided by Charge RN, Team Leads, Supervisors (AM, PM, Weekends), Manager, Surgeons, and Anesthesia Team.Facility orientation lasts approximately 1-1.5 weeks depending on team and shift assignment.Scrubs provided by facility; scrub caps allowed but must be covered by a surgical bouffant.Holiday week expectations include working 4x10-hour shifts or taking the holiday unpaid.First-time travelers not generally recommended for this role, but may be considered with manager approval for strong candidates.Former employees of Advocate Health or its subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before becoming eligible for travel assignments.Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restrictions.Free parking available with shuttle service to and from the parking structure.On-campus dining options include Starbucks and a cafeteria.
