About Woodwinds Woodwinds is a 86 bed hospital opened in 2000 located on 30 acres of pristine wetlands in Woodbury MN. It is the only hospital in the southeast metro area. Woodwinds provides convenient, comprehensive and quality health care for the community. 7 OR Surgery Department, 20-25 cases per day, patient age: 18+ Patient Population: General Surgery, Orthopedics, Ortho Spine, Podiatry, OB/GYN, Plastics, ENT, and Ophthalmology Schedule This position will be working 80 hours every 2 weeks on the Day/Evening shift Monday through Friday. Job Expectations Manages day-to-day operations of assigned area(s) to ensure support of the mission, vision, values and goals of the organization. Plans, manages, coordinates and evaluates patient care activities including staffing, resource management, quality and safety, regulatory compliance, and financial management. Manages equipment inventory and supply management within operational budget. Accountable for capacity management to promote patient flow. Develops, implements, monitors and evaluates the quality improvement initiatives. In addition, the PCS Is responsible for human resources management to achieve quality service and positive employee relations. Ensures compliance with organizational policies and procedures. Advocates for patient, family and staff needs. Drives improvement activities that promote patient centered care and positive customer experience. In partnership with the Nursing Practice and Education team, assure that evidence based/best practice clinical care is being delivered. Ensures staff compliance in areas of job requirements, education and clinical competency. Works with Nurse Director to establish goals and objectives. Promotes a culture of high employee engagement, professional development, nursing education and research. Partners with interprofessional team members across the continuum of care to achieve organizational outcomes. Required Qualifications 3+ years of acute care perioperative experience, at least one of which in a formal or informal (charge, lead, preceptor) leadership role. Knowledge of patient population served in area of responsibility. Perioperative experience MN Registered Nurse (RN) License Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross) Operating Room Department/Pre & Post Department Advanced Cardiac Life Support (American Heart Assoc) Pre & Post Department - ACLS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (American Heart Assoc) Pre & Post Department-PALS Preferred Qualifications Strong Periop and OR background/Knowledge of OR process Master’s degree in nursing, health care administration, business administration or related field.
