Quality Control Inspector

Shift 1st Shift Employment Type Full-Time Work Location In Person Pay Competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience in a manufacturing job shop environment and demonstrated expertise in inspecting close-tolerance machined components. The Quality Control Inspector will be responsible for performing setup, first-piece, in-process, and final inspections while ensuring products meet established dimensional, quality, and customer specifications. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished machined products. Conduct setup, first-piece, in-process, and final inspections of close-tolerance components. Use Precision Measuring Equipment, Including Height gauges Calipers Micrometers Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) Vision inspection systems Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, manufacturing documents, and specifications. Apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to verify dimensional and geometric requirements. Identify quality issues, document nonconformances, and communicate findings to manufacturing personnel. Provide feedback and recommendations to support corrective and preventive actions. Collect and analyze quality data and prepare inspection and quality reports. Assist with maintaining quality management system requirements and supporting internal and external audits. Maintain accurate inspection records and ensure measurement equipment is used properly. Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality-related issues. Qualifications & Requirements Minimum 5 years of experience in Quality Control/Quality Assurance within a manufacturing job shop environment. Strong experience inspecting precision, close-tolerance machined parts. Proficiency with precision measuring instruments, including height gauges, calipers, and micrometers. Experience with CMM inspection and measurement processes. Working knowledge of GD&T and geometric tolerances. Ability to accurately read and interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings. Basic mathematical skills for measurement calculations and dimensional analysis. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. High school diploma or equivalent. Basic computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment and communicate quality issues clearly. Preferred Qualifications Experience with PC-DMIS software. Experience with vision inspection systems. Experience supporting quality audits and quality management systems. Experience working with corrective and preventive action processes.
