Operations Analyst

A top-tier global investment banking firm is seeking a contracted Operations Fund Services Analyst to join their Asset Wealth Management in New York, NY.

Pay Rate: up to $33/hour

Location: New York, NY

Schedule: Fully onsite – 5 days per week

Duration: 6-month contract to start, with potential for extension based on performance and business needs

Role Overview:

The Fund Services team supports the strategic setup, launch, and ongoing lifecycle management of alternative investment funds. The team collaborates with internal business units and external service providers to ensure all fund launch milestones are executed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.

As a Fund Services Operations Analyst, you will provide vital analytical and project management coordination for new fund launches and key lifecycle events. Working alongside experienced industry professionals, this role offers an early-career candidate hands-on exposure to asset management operations, alternative investment products, and end-to-end fund management workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide day-to-day project coordination support for new fund launches and other fund-related activities.
• Maintain project plans, launch checklists, trackers, and internal workflow tools under the direction of senior team members.
• Schedule working-group meetings, organize materials, prepare draft agendas, and document meeting notes and action items.
• Follow up with internal stakeholders on assigned tasks, required information, and upcoming deadlines.
• Maintain accurate records for fund launches, fund changes, restructurings, and terminations.
• Assist with collecting and organizing information required for internal system setup and external service-provider onboarding.
• Support the preparation of status reports, management updates, presentation materials, and working-group documentation.
• Set up new funds in the firms systems based on fund documentation and internal information.
• Perform basic data validation to confirm that information is complete and accurately reflected across trackers and supporting materials.
• Identify missing information, overdue deliverables, or potential process issues, and escalate them to the appropriate team or individual.
• Support ad hoc operational projects and process-improvement initiatives.
• Develop a foundational understanding of asset management operations, investment funds, and end-to-end fund lifecycle activities.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with close attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and quality control
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface professionally across internal operational networks
• Ability to manage multiple assigned tasks and meet established deadlines.
• Ability to follow documented procedures, ask questions, and escalate issues appropriately.
• Comfortable working within a fast-paced, collaborative team environment and adapting to fluid project requirements
• Professional and dependable, with the ability to handle business information appropriately.
• Genuine interest in learning about investment products, fund operations, and asset management.

Preferred

• Bachelors degree in finance, accoutning, business, or related field
• Prior internship or academic exposure within financial services, asset management, fund accounting, or corporate project management.
• Proficiency in modern workspace productivity suites (e.g., advanced MS Excel, Microsoft Project, or specialized workflow platforms).
