As part of the SANY America's team, SANY America is seeking an experienced Machine Refurbishment Floor Lead to direct and execute the day-to-day operations of SANY America's heavy equipment refurbishment program. This hands-on leadership role oversees a team of technicians in the disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of SANY heavy equipment. This position will ensure all refurbished machines meet established quality, safety, and performance standards before being available for sale. The Floor Lead serves as the primary technical resource for troubleshooting complex system failures and drives continuous improvement across all aspects of the refurbishment process. With current revenues over $500 million, SANY America continues to make strong progress and significant investments in the Americas market; the organization is now pursuing an aggressive growth strategy and is looking to move quickly beyond this initial platform and increase their market share. KEY RESPONSIBILITES Team Leadership & Coordination
- Lead, mentor, and coordinate a team of refurbishment technicians to execute daily workflow in alignment with program goals and timelines.
- Assign tasks, monitor team productivity, and adjust priorities to meet production schedules.
- Conduct regular toolbox talks, safety briefings, and on-the-job coaching sessions.
- Assist in the onboarding and training of new team members on refurbishment procedures and SANY standards.
- Serve as the primary point of escalation for technical issues on the floor.
- Perform and oversee the removal and replacement of major components including engines, transmissions, hydraulic assemblies, axles, and structural elements.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose failures across multiple machine systems including hydraulics, electrical/electronics, powertrain, aftertreatment (DEF/SCR/DPF), and auxiliary systems;
- Utilize diagnostic software, schematics, and OEM service documentation to identify root causes and develop repair solutions.
- Perform functional testing and final quality inspections on refurbished machines prior to release.
- Document all work performed, parts used, and findings in accordance with program record-keeping requirements.
- Collaborate with the Manager of Customer Support to plan refurbishment schedules, resource needs, and capacity requirements.
- Track and report key metrics such as machine throughput, hours per unit, parts consumption, and technician efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to improve refurbishment processes, reduce cycle time, and minimize costs without compromising quality.
- Coordinate with parts/purchasing teams to ensure timely availability of components and consumables.
- Communicate job status updates, technical findings, and program risks to the Manager of Customer Support on a regular basis.
- Enforce all applicable safety policies, PPE requirements, and shop housekeeping standards.
- Ensure all lifting, rigging, and heavy component handling is performed in compliance with established procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times
- 5+ years of hands-on experience servicing or repairing heavy construction, agricultural, or industrial equipment.
- Demonstrated experience with hydraulic, electrical, powertrain, and aftertreatment systems.
- Prior experience in a lead, supervisory, or senior technician role.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools, digital service manuals, and electronic troubleshooting equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics, electrical diagrams, and OEM service documentation.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- OEM or manufacturer-specific training certifications (e.g., SANY, Cat, John Deere, Komatsu, CNH, or equivalent).
- Experience in a remanufacturing, rebuild, or refurbishment environment.
- Familiarity with work order management systems or ERP/service software.
- Associate's degree or technical diploma in Diesel Technology, Heavy Equipment, or a related field
- Regularly required to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs; heavier components with mechanical assistance.
- Must be able to stand, kneel, bend, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
- Frequent use of hand and power tools in a shop environment.
- Exposure to noise, grease, oils, fluids, and varying temperatures typical of a heavy equipment shop setting
