Responsibilities
- Assist the Controller with daily accounting office operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll support, and month-end closings
- Oversee and support office staff: hiring, training, supervision, and workflow management
- Perform daily cash management tasks, including bank reconciliations and deposits
- Review and manage paperwork and deal flow from sales, service, and parts departments
- Maintain accurate and organized records for deals, commissions, inventory changes, and financial reports
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, dealership policies, and state/federal regulations
- Prepare and submit monthly financial statements and reporting as required
- Assist with special projects, audits, and operational improvements as assigned
- Serve as a point of contact between departments to streamline operations and resolve issues efficiently
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 3+ years of experience in an automotive dealership office or accounting environment
- Strong knowledge of general accounting practices (AP/AR, GL, journal entries)
- Proficiency with dealership management systems (e.g., CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail
- Professional, solution-oriented, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
