Ministry Site Director
This position exists to lead and manage Campus Life ministry in Alaska. This includes casting vision, implementing strategy, establishing fruitful and sustainable ministry while maintaining YFC USA's policies for compliance. The Campus Life Ministry Site Director is a position that requires spiritual and organizational leadership skills, the ability to work with and through other people, and strong communication skills. S/he must embrace and build a team that embodies YFC's Cultural Attributes: Christ-centered, enduring humility, relentless trust, courageous faithfulness, joyful camaraderie, and kingdom inspired diversity. S/he will seek to implement relational ministry actions to develop Authentic Christ-Sharing Relationships with young people within the context of their YFC ministry model.
Essential Functions
- Recruit, train, and develop the YFC local community support team, including a team of at least five (5) people who meet a minimum of 8 times annually and appointing a Chairperson
- Recruit and Develop YFC Leaders who in turn engage in Authentic Christ Sharing Relationships with lost young people within Anchorage and its communities. This includes following YFC procedures for volunteer application, background checks and training.
- Help Manage the Direct Affiliate YFC Impact account for monthly and quarterly compliance with all volunteer leader information and ministry site(s) information and data.
- Financial Management and Development by managing annual budget and monthly expenses. (Also see section under 'fundraising'.)
- Create a strong connection between local churches and the ministry site
- Provide training materials and ministry site standards for ministry leaders
- Develop healthy 3 Story teams for each ministry site
- Establish necessary support and guidelines to ensure healthy and growing ministry at all sites
- Be an advocate in the community for young people
- Report progress and ministry updates to YFC
Relational Ministry Action Development (30%)
- Implement YFC 5 Essential Ministry by developing programs, programming materials, meeting with kids, developing partnerships and equipping other leaders in order to meet the goals of the affiliate. This includes organizing and participating in city-wide outreach events as needed.
- Responsible for managing, facilitating and serving in the Relational Ministry Actions (RMAs)
- Direct the 3 Story Team at their site in accomplishing the standards outlined in the RMAs found in the Knowledge Base
- Train and evaluate ministry site leaders in the implementation of curriculum materials
Spiritual Responsibilities
Because the overriding religious purpose and mission of Youth for Christ USA is to communicate and introduce the Gospel of Jesus Christ to young people and their families, and in that regard to make, educate and encourage life-long disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, it is very important that you as an employee in the movement of Youth for Christ be recognized as an associate minister of the Gospel.
As an employee of Youth for Christ and an associate minister of the Gospel, YFC expects all employees to:
- Seek God's guidance and wisdom, through prayer and meditation, for the organization as a whole as well as for specific ministry initiatives.
- Participate and lead regular times of prayer, devotion and worship as a regular aspect of your role within YFC.
- Teach and preach from the Holy Bible at YFC staff meetings, conferences, camps and events.
- Model empathy, humility and care for all people. This includes promoting equity and inclusion in word and in the practice of faith expression. YFC employees will have an opportunity to be commissioned or licensed as a minister of the Gospel through the established Youth for Christ process, and/or ordained by an outside body recognized by Youth for Christ USA.

Credentials Required & Preferred Education
- Bachelor's Degree
- 1-3 years of youth ministry experience
