System Administrator and Test Engineer

WHO YOU ARE

Prowess Consulting is looking for an enthusiastic junior System Administrator/System/Test Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have skills in a variety of technologies including storage, compute and networking. Strong trouble shooting and creative problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate effectively to resolve issues. To be considered for this role, you must reside in the greater Seattle area. This role will require 3 – 5 days per week in our Bellevue, WA office. This is a part-time, hourly role that can be worked remotely, however, collaboration with teammates centered in the Pacific time zone will be essential. No third-party agencies, please.

THE ROLE

* Researching, testing, development and writing in support of benchmarking, and testing

• Running publicly available hardware benchmarks and tracking results
• Running provided Python/PowerShell/Bash/Shell scripts or interactive steps to

stress test server infrastructure hardware

QUALIFICATIONS

* Associate degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required * 2+ years’ experience or working knowledge administrating AWS, Azure, GCP, or Oracle cloud * 2+ years or working knowledge with scripting languages such as Python and Batch/Shell scripts

• Ability to take clear notes and write concise technical documentation
• Ability to analyze/interpret test results and provide recommendations to

improve testing. * Must be able to work Pacific Time Zone

NICE TO HAVE

• 2+ years’ experience in a Windows environment
• 2+ years' experience with Linux Administration
• 1+ year experience in configuring enterprise storage
• 1+ year consumer hardware benchmarking and testing
• 2+ years with building sandbox and lab environments
• Ability to conduct research to learn and understand new technologies

* Additional experience in the following areas:

• Kubernetes
• AI/ML workloads
• Microsoft SQL Server
• MySQL
• Virtualization such as Microsoft Hyper-V, VMware vSphere, Nutanix AHV
• Nginx
• Redis

ADDITIONAL DETAILS
