Sr Maintenance Technician - Electrician

Job Description The Utilities Technician – Electrician is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of plant equipment that supports utilities, including high‑pressure steam boilers, chillers, HVAC units, wastewater treatment systems, water purification systems, compressors, dryers, chilled water distribution systems, and other utilities equipment. Using SOPs and cGMP documentation practices, the technician performs preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance, completes work orders, logs, and forms, and adheres to corporate safety policies. How you will contribute Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance of all associated equipment. Operate and maintain equipment through routine inspection and review. Complete all work in accordance with cGMPs, SOPs, job plans, and company policies. Read, understand, and follow related SOPs and job/work plans. Ensure accurate documentation on forms and work orders. Respond to calls and conduct repairs throughout the facility; may escort contractors. Support start‑up of new equipment to meet electrical design specifications. Repair, replace, and install sensors, actuators, transformers, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, switches, and related hardware. Troubleshoot, repair, and replace PLCs, servo and frequency drives, and other electronic hardware. Disassemble, inspect, reassemble, and replace malfunctioning parts or equipment using test equipment. Follow safety rules and comply with GA state, federal EPA regulations and laws. Dispose of hazardous waste safely. Respond to urgent and emergency work orders for utilities as needed. Close assigned work orders in the CMMS (JDE, Maximo, SAP). Attend required instructor‑led training and team meetings. Demonstrate progress in job knowledge and technical proficiency. Maintain a Lean 5S work area. Train other technicians on basic activities and work execution. Work with less experienced technicians under detailed instruction. Interact primarily with Plant Engineering personnel; moderate interaction with other departments. May perform other duties as assigned. What you bring to Takeda High school diploma or GED plus 8+ years of industrial-related experience; pharmaceutical, utilities, and/or WWTP experience preferred. Two‑year technical certificate (e.g., Electrician). Proficiency in electrical circuits, schematics, servo motors, 460/220 V 3‑phase wiring; HVAC or building trades preferred. 5‑6 years of maintenance trade experience preferred. Ability to read and understand technical manuals and wiring schematics. Good customer‑service skills and teamwork orientation. Effective verbal and written communication. Intermediate computer skills. Constructive interaction with peers and teams. Resource‑seeking ability. Limited troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair of building systems and equipment. Experience with manufacturing equipment such as vessels, mixers, valves, and pumps. Basic laboratory equipment operation to assess utilities processes. Familiarity with CMMS, SAP, JDE, or Maximo. Understanding of cGMPs and regulatory guidelines applicable to the pharmaceutical industry. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SCADA, process control software, and other computer‑based applications. Important Considerations Work in a controlled environment requiring gowning, protective clothing, and hearing protection. Remove makeup, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish, or artificial nails in the manufacturing environment. Work in cold, wet, and potentially hazardous chemical areas. Work multiple shifts, including weekends; may be asked for supplemental hours. Potential exposure to chemicals, dust, gases, and fumes. Require standing, walking, and frequent evaluation of utilities equipment. May climb tanks and work near moving equipment. May be required to work 12‑hour shifts and rotate shifts (2/2/3). Overtime possible. No travel expected.
