Maintenance Technician

Maintenance TechnicianInspect, diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on machinery and mechanical equipment. Perform various facilities maintenance activities.Key Accountabilities:Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, and similar problems on machinery/equipment and perform timely repairs on all equipment.Establish appropriate frequency and perform regular preventive maintenance activities on all machinery/equipment in the facility.Perform timely facility/building maintenance and minor repairs and maintain a clean and safe work area.Dismantle defective machines/equipment and install new or repaired equipment.Ability to perform preventative maintenance on all equipment.Maintain accurate records of all inspections, tests, and repairs.Coordinate and make recommendations on work-related contracts and services.Supervise outside contractors when needed for mechanical and electrical repairs and maintenance.Participate, support, and comply with all health, safety, quality, and lean initiatives and requirements.Complete all job duties in a manner that does not put him/herself or other individuals in an unsafe situation and wear all PPE (personal protective equipment) when required.Assist in any duties to support the operations, as requested by supervisor or manager.This is a position that works directly on the warehouse floor around heavy machinery.Qualifications:Minimum Requirements:Demonstrate mechanical and technical aptitude3-5 years experience in an industrial, maintenance environmentHS Diploma or GEDFormal degree or certificate in a technical area or related field requiredGood interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawingsLittle or no supervisor assistance is requiredPhysically able to stand, bend, stoop, climb, reach and lift up to 40 lbsAbility to read and write English and perform basic math problemsBasic computer knowledge to complete data entryAbility to use basic measurement instruments such as tape measure, scales, and gaugesObtain and maintain current certification to operate material handling equipment such as, forklift, side-loader, 4-directional lift, or cherry pickerSafety MindsetAbility to work (Monday - Friday 8 Hrs, from 10:00pm to 6:30am)Hiring Range: $24.00 to $28.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience, plus a $0.75 per hour third-shift premium.Benefits OverviewWe offer competitive company benefits to eligible positions, such as :Medical, Dental, Vision InsuranceLife Insurance and DisabilityVoluntary Wellness Programs401(k) and RRSP programs with Company MatchPaid Vacation and HolidaysTuition ReimbursementAnd more!Benefits may vary based on job, country, union role, and/or company segment.
