The Registered Professional Nurse in CARS is responsible for the provision of direct patient care to a designated group of patients in a fast-paced, multi-faceted department. These responsibilities include observation, data collection, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient's physical, psychological, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs.

Helps to maintain 24-hour accountability for quality of care of clients.

Completes physical and mental health assessments (vital signs, risk assessments, withdrawal assessment [COWS]) as indicated by Part 820 regulations.

Administers and monitors treatment regimens.

Administers prescribed medications.

Observes and reports behavioral changes.

Maintains control of drugs and medications.

Triage emergent client medical issues and coordinate care with Nursing Staff, PA, NP, Medical Director, and outside providers.

Records all care information concisely, accurately, and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and forms.

Performs other position-related duties as assigned, depending on assignment setting.

Directs care provided by Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs).

Respects cultural and religious practices of patients.

Ensures OASAS/Medicaid regulatory compliance.

Collaborates with Director of Nursing, Direct Care Staff, Counselors, Clinical Directors, other Department Managers, and Compliance Manager in Quality Assessment, Assurance, and Performance Improvement Activities.

Associate's Degree in Nursing from an Accredited School of Nursing

BLS Certification

Successful completion of CPI training within 3 months of hire.

Successful completion of medication competency exam.

Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing BSN

Repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g., use of computer keyboard); may require lifting and carrying light loads (up to 40 lbs), including boxes, equipment, IV solutions, and stooping and kneeling (e.g., to pick up items from the floor, to remove and replace items on lower shelves, and to file documents in lower file drawers). Sitting, walking, or standing for long periods of time may be necessary. Must be physically able to operate the equipment used for the job.

Shift: Evenings with rotating weekends and holidays

Travel: Less than 25%

Standard rate of $39.90 - $47.50 per hour

Sign On Bonus Available: $8,500 - $15,000 based on direct years of RN experience
