Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care to patients across the age spectrum within the Med Surg unit.
- Assess patient needs, problems and concerns; perform ongoing data collection across physiologic, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual and cognitive domains, including nutrition, pain, education, family involvement, and advocacy.
- Develop a goal-directed plan of care, prioritize updates, and involve patient/family/designee in planning.
- Document accurately and succinctly in the electronic medical record; communicate changes in condition and treatment to the care team.
- Coordinate with other disciplines, delegate appropriately, and participate in orientation and training of staff and students as needed.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the plan of care and discharge planning; ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.

Requirements
- Active RN license in California (or eligible for CA licensure)
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Minimum 1 year Med-Surg RN experience
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred)
- Ability to work a 3x12 night shift in a hospital Med Surg setting
