Make a meaningful impact on students’ lives as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired for the 2026-2027 school year. This contract opportunity involves supporting K-12 learners in southern Oregon across several counties, offering both in-person and VOCO (virtual/online consultative options) for delivery. Work within a collaborative and student-focused environment dedicated to ensuring educational access for those with visual impairments.

This assignment runs from December 7, 2026, through June 11, 2027, offering 30-32 hours per week and exposure to a diverse caseload. Utilize your expertise to help shape educational experiences, advocate for student independence, and build meaningful relationships with schools and families.

Required Qualifications:

• Valid Oregon Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) license or certification
• Proven experience working with visually impaired students, preferably in a K-12 setting
• Skilled in individualized education processes, developing and modifying instructional materials
• Comfortable with assistive technology tools and adaptations for low-vision or blind learners
• Effective communicator with students, families, and multidisciplinary education teams
• Flexible and able to travel within specified Oregon counties as needed

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver vision services and instruction (either in-person or virtually), meeting each student’s goals and IEP requirements
• Assess and monitor student progress, ensuring accessibility in curriculum and school activities
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, orientation and mobility specialists, and support staff
• Provide direct instruction in Braille literacy, use of assistive devices, and adaptive skills
• Train staff on best practices for classroom inclusion and accessibility
• Document student performance and maintain accurate records as required by district policies
